Herbal D.I.Y | Headache Tincture Recipe

What you will need

  • Fresh feverfew (leaves and flowers)
  • Fresh lemon balm 
  • Fresh peppermint
  • 80 proof vodka
  • Mason jar and lid
  • Cheesecloth
  • Glass measuring cup
  • Amber glass dropper bottles

 

Directions

  1. Harvest equal portions of feverfew, lemon balm, and peppermint before they seed. 
  2. Rinse herbs.
  3. Finely chop herbs.
  4. Put into a (sanitized) mason jar. 
  5. Fill the jar with vodka until all the herbs are submerged. 
  6. Store in a cool, dark place for 1 – 2 months. In the first couple of weeks, make sure to check everyday if the herbs are completely submerged.
  7. Once ready, use cheesecloth to strain herbal liquid into a measuring cup. 
  8. Funnel herbal liquid into (sanitized) amber glass dropper bottles. 
  9. Store in a cool, dark place. 
  10. Take 1 – 2 dropper-fulls when needed, up to 3 times a day.
