WELCOME TO THE NEC
Alice Bundy (she/her) | New EcoNews Layout Coordinator
Alice is a former Cal Poly Humboldt geology student. Disenchanted by the industry’s inherent ties to oil and mineral mining, she left school and now spends her time reading and walking around Arcata. She enjoys science fiction, going to DIY shows, and long talks with strangers. In her role as the EcoNews Layout Coordinator, she hopes to produce a publication which reflects the historically odd character of Humboldt County. Please reach out to her with tales of local lore, recommendations for a good walk, and your latest environmental qualm.
GOODBYE TO THE NEC
Elena Bilheimer
After 3 1/2 years of working at the NEC, it is time for me to say goodbye to this beloved organization. I have learned so much and couldn’t be more grateful to the people I have worked with and the experience I have gained. I first joined the NEC as the EcoNews Journalism Intern and was lucky enough to then transition through the roles of EcoNews Journalist, EcoNews Layout Editor, and finally a Co-director as a result of the exciting restructuring of the NEC to a worker-led cooperative. I look forward to watching the NEC evolve, I know Alice will do an incredible job and EcoNews will only become more interesting and thoughtful. Thanks again for your readership and support, it means the world.
