Activate NEC | 2nd & 4th Wednesdays

November 2021 Update: Activate NEC is on hiatus. We are in the process of revamping this program so it will be more engaging and accessible to the community. Stay tuned for updates on what this will look like in future months.

When: Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday

Join the Northcoast Environmental Center at our bi-weekly zoom meeting to take your community activism to the next level.  We invite you to join us for 30 minutes to quickly learn about a local issue of concern, and then take action by calling your representative, writing a letter, sending an email, posting on social media, signing petitions, and more.

This free event is open to the public and absolutely no experience or prior knowledge is required. We will walk you through each step and provide you with all the information you need to take action.

Action Items
We will cover a variety of environmental and social justice issues. Check our Facebook Events page for the most up-to-date information on the month’s topic of choice.

The NEC’s Co-Director and EcoNews Editor, Caroline Griffith, will be the event facilitator. Caroline has been a resident of Eureka since 2017 and is an avid public meeting attendee and can often be found at City Council and Board of Supervisors meetings. Environmentalism has been a factor in much of the political work that she has done. She is excited to highlight the intersections of environmentalism and social justice that are happening in Humboldt County.
