Friends for the Dunes is hosting their annual Kids Ocean Day for local 4th-7th graders. Students participate in a virtual classroom presentation about the health of coastal and marine environments, with an emphasis on local watersheds. They are then participating in a trash collection challenge, complete with low-waste prizes for the most trash collected. With the Marine Debris Tracker app, and the help of NEC, students will be able to track the trash they collect, helping to keep their local habitats clean.
Students who participate in the classroom presentation will be submitting art that will be part of a state-wide virtual mosaic.
