“The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all, our most pleasing responsibility. To cherish what remains of it, and to foster its renewal, is our only legitimate hope.” – Wendell Berry
Can you find pleasure in caring for the Earth? Do you sing while you garden? Could you invite friends to do a neighborhood clean up in community together? Does making sacrifices of luxury for sustainability feel taxing, or is it an honor to give up what is unnecessary? Is participation in environmental politics a begrudging activity or do you feel the depth of your responsibility as an act of love and solidarity with the land?
The more we can find pleasure in doing this work for the Earth, the more satisfaction we receive and the more we want to do it.
Seek the pleasure of community at our next Thrive: EcoGrief and Anxiety Circle on August 22nd from 11am – 12:30pm. Questions? Contact Brittany at firstname.lastname@example.org
